The Premier Print Awards is the largest and most prestigious print competition on the global scene, and the Academy Awards of the graphic arts world. They are hosted by the Printing Industries of America, and in their 71st year they attracted 2,238 entries from 13 countries. The judges awarded the top honour to Momento Pro stating that,

“this was as close to a unanimous decision as we have ever had. Middlehurst | Middle Earth is a collector’s item. Each spread surpasses the one prior. Congrats on your ‘Best in Show.’”

Middlehurst-5The ‘Best of Show’ is selected from all the Best of Category winners. Middlehurst | Middle Earth had won the Art Books (4 or more colours) category, with the judges stating, “the title of this masterpiece is Middle Earth but a better name might be out of this world! Each spread is a visual feast for the senses. In the toughest category, this is numero uno. Extraordinary colour!”

Middlehurst-4The book feels larger than life due to its 42 x 42cm size, and because Eastway captured the detailed images of the New Zealand landscape on a 100-megapixel Phase One camera with Schneider and Rodenstock lenses. Peter then did the medium-format files justice by printing them in one of our fine art inkjet books.

By using Epson Ultrachrome archival inks on 100% cotton rag, finished with an archival coating, we guarantee they are the highest quality book prints with the longest lifespan available today.

While this was an extraordinary book, we want you to know that we put as much effort into every order we produced, regardless of the photographer, the quality of the photography, or the format of the book. As Momento Pro co-founder Geoff Hunt, confirmed,

“winning the ‘Best of Show’ is humbling recognition of our 15 year focus on quality for all our products, and all our customers – consumers, professionals, photographers, artists and corporates. We’ll keep helping Antipodeans preserve their photos in world class quality prints from right here in Sydney, and prove that printing photographs is far from dead.”

Pham (page coater), Parvez (printer), Marty (binder)

In addition to Peter, the production of the book was made possible with the efforts of: our inkjet print operator and quality assurance guru Parvez; Pham, who hand finished every page with an archival coating; Marty who hand bound the tome; Epson Australia manufacturer of the printer and inks; the legendary Les and Andrey Walkling who created the colour profiles; and we can’t forget the natural beauty of Middlehurst Station on the south island of New Zealand.
